» California Downwind Current Results

What a weekend we had for the inaugural race of the California Downwind race series. Saturdays race saw beautiful sunny skies with crisp, clean conditions and no shortage of North wind in the Santa Barbara area. With about 100 competitors ready at the starting line of Goleta Beach, the horn was sounded and the paddlers made there way out to sea before making a left hand turn at a buoy and heading the 9 miles South into Santa Barbara. The finish line was situated at Ledbetter Beach Park where the first place finisher landed on the sand in 1 hour and 16 minutes, congrats to Tom Gallagher! The day was finished off with an incredible BBQ, cold beers, and great stories.
